Food Drives

The Fish & Loaves Community Food Pantry benefits from food drives organized and hosted by Downriver churches, fraternal groups, youth organizations, local businesses, and post offices throughout the year.  Fish & Loaves welcomes everything from canned goods and boxed foods to toiletries and household paper products.  Those donating items can drop them off at the pantry during regular store hours or at pre-arranged times.  Volunteers from Fish & Loaves are also available to pick up larger food donations.  Please contact Operations Manager Russ Newsome (734-442-0031) to make special arrangements.  All donations are weighed when they arrive at the pantry and acknowledged by a note or letter of thanks.

Retail Store Food Donations

Fish & Loaves welcomes perishable and non-perishable food donations from area retail stores.  Our large, commercial-sized freezer and refrigeration units allow us to receive and store for re-distribution to our clients perishable items that smaller pantries cannot accommodate, including meat, milk, eggs, and cheese.  Fish & Loaves is an ongoing recipient of food from Second Harvest, another non-profit organization which regularly collects food from retail stores for pantries like our own.
